The text of the wall-painting reveals oppositional dynamics. Two series of words referring to the rock and stone element are juxtaposed and opposed two by two: “Standing Rock” and “Sacred Stone”, two sacred places where indigenous people and environmentalists fought, in front of “Black Rock” and “Keystone”. Black Rock has become the largest American corporation specialized in asset management in the world and The Keystone XL is a oil pipeline carrying 700,000 barrels of synthetic hydrocarbon and diluted bitumen extracted from oil sand every day.
